Cockatiel questions:
1.) Why was my cockatiel making noises that sounded like a dead rabbit and bobbing his head? ( i bobbed my head up and down. lol. So I think he was just copying me.)
2.) What would happen if a cockatiel ate a ladybug? ( it didn't happen I'm just wondering. lol.)
3.) Are spider plants poisonous to cockatiels?
4.) Is the best way to get your cockatiel to talk ----%26gt; to repeat what you want him to say?
5.) Would it be bad to not feed your cockatiel veggies? And just feed him a healthy seed and pellet diet?
Thank you sooooooooo much everyone! =]
Some more COCKATIEL questions! =]?
Don't know about the noises. If he ate a lady bug, nothing would happen. I'm not sure about the spider plants, Check on the internet. Repeat things to your cockatiel over and over while holding him so he listens to you. Only do it for about 10 min. they have short attention spans. Your bird needs to eat veggies and fruits. Pellets are much better than seed.
Reply:1) Dead rabbits don't make noise. Birds bob their heads for fun or to imitate. Mine does it when I brush my teeth %26amp; to say "thank you" for something he likes (cheese bit).
2) Probably nothing but they really smell bad so may not be good for him.
3) Don't know. Do search for "poisonous plant bird".
4) Just talk normally to him like you would to a child. He will pick up things that he wants, not necessarily what you want him to say. Some birds won't talk at all.
5) Yes, bad. There is no such thing as a "healthy seed and pellet diet". They need fresh veggies, fruits, etc. Small amount of seeds.

Reply:1 Don't know what dead rabbits sound like. Head bobbing OK
2 The lady bug would die
3 Never take chance with unknown plants. Don't let them eat spider plants
4 The ONLY way to get any bird to "talk" is to repeat over %26amp; over. Birds don't "talk"...they repeat.
5 PLEASE feed you bird veggies...they're VERY good for her. Try raw, peeled sweet potatoes...they're VERY good for them.
