What is the best way to repel black widow spiders?

Hopefully someone can tell me how to do this without poisons and chemicals as I would prefer all natural if possible. I have those icky spiders in my okra plants and around and I'm sure in my house.

What is the best way to repel black widow spiders?
We are battling an infestation right now....I was an exterminator for 10 years so heres how to do it.

1) Get rid of areas they can setup shop. Old flower pots or any where that offers them darkness during the day.

2) Get rid of their food supply. We have a pile of bricks in the back that is a cricket city. Thats what they are feeding on....But I also use these crickets to feed my 'good' spiders and manitds that live in my yard soooo that wouldn't work for me.

3) Go out after dark with a flash light and smash um. Of course be careful but this approach works wonders. You figure out where they are concentrated then can probably identify food sources near by. They are most likely not going to be up in the trees but rather waist level or more likely calf to ankle level. Their webs are erratic looking messes, look for those. If you see a cotton ball looking thing in a messy web squash the hell out of it and you just killed a ton of potential widows....(eggs sac)

4) Spraying chemicals does not work too well. They are inherently hard to kill with pesticides plus remember they are not roaming around too much so they will not pick up a lot of chemical...They stay on their webs. So unless you are spraying them directly, you are just killing off other insects and exposing your self to poisons. Plus if you are spraying during the day there are a bunch hidden that you are going to miss...Thats why you gotta go out at night. Now pesticides might work if you target their food source versus the spiders BUT if you have a lot of widows and disrupt their food source....Well they are going to start roaming around looking for an alternative which may land them inside. Thats why I say smashing them on site, at night will be most effective PLUS getting rid of their food source and places of harborage.

Just be careful and persistent and you will reduce them dramatically...But never totally.
Reply:I wouldn't take the chance. Black widows are extremely

dangerous, so I would call " the orkin man" don't be stupid!!! dee dee dee
Reply:Those big yellow, green Horse apples we call them?........Put them around the house........hide them...leave a week and replace.......have to be in season to get them......find them in trees...ask a farmer, friend or local High School FFA member.
