Christians, if god gave man dominion over all the plants and animals on earth.....?

then why are so many so dangerous to man? Why do some snakes and spiders have lethal venom? Why are some plants toxic? Why are there preadtors that can easly kill us?

And don't say "because man sinned"....there are 2 things wrong with that arguement. First, god, being god, already KNEW man would sin so why create plants %26amp; animals and later make them dangerous? Why not make them dangerous to begin with? And secondly, why would this not be mentioned in the bible?

So, why are there dangerous plants %26amp; animals on earth?

Christians, if god gave man dominion over all the plants and animals on earth.....?
i think that cause when adam and eve lived in the garden then none of those plants and animals where there. so then they never had to deal with them. but once they got kicked out then they had to deal with them.....

at least that is my thoughts....
Reply:Hey, I didn't quote scripture and I told a good story. I still like your fish with feets. Report It
Reply:I honestly think it is just a matter of survival. Animals and insects alike have the right to survive - and as such - have developed mechanisms (such as venom) to increase their chance for surviving.
Reply:Yes, God gave man dominion, but he also said that man would have to work, sweat, and subdue the earth as a result of the fall. The animals probably did always have the potential for being dangerous.

In the future, we are told "the lion will lie down with the lamb" and live in peace. I believe that before the fall, lambs were able to lie next to lions without getting eaten. Humans could come across a scorpion and not fear getting stung. The adversarial relationship between animals and each other and animals and mankind came as a result of the fall and will pass away when God's perfect order is restored to creation.
Reply:The bible says that these signs will follow them that believe. If they eat or drink any poisnous thing, it will not hurt them. Poisnous serpents can't hurt me either. So I guess hes feeding athiests to these creatures.

Reply:God gave man dominion over all plants and animals. However, shortly after, man fell away from God. When this happened, we were no longer masters of earth, but subjects of it. We have to eat plants and animals to live. We must depend upon them for life. How could we ever dominion over something we depend on?

You must understand that because of Adam and Eve's sin, we were separated from God. Without God: we die; we have to labor hard for food; we have no power or dominion over earth; we are just dust and bones; and we are sinful. We once were Masters of our domain, now we are slaves to it.
Reply:As far as plants go that is addressed in Genesis:

God cursed the ground because of man's sin -

3:17

Then to Adam He said, "Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat from it'; Cursed is the ground because of you; In toil you will eat of it All the days of your life.

3:18

"Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; And you will eat the plants of the field;

3:19

By the sweat of your face You will eat bread, Till you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return."

For the animals - according to scripture things radically changed after the flood.

Especially since meat was given to humans to eat afterwards.

Genesis 9:2-3

2"The fear of you and the terror of you will be on every beast of the earth and on every bird of the sky; with everything that creeps on the ground, and all the fish of the sea, into your hand they are given.

3 "Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I give all to you, as {I gave} the green plant.

Reply:In the Garden of Eden man didn't worry about snakes and spiders. It was Paradise. All he had to do was stay away from eating the tree of "Knowledge of good and evil" and he could continue eating from the tree of "Eternal life."

When they choose to eat of the tree of "Knowledge of good and evil" ... well they get introduced to the snakes, and toxic plants because this is introducing them to what is evil; which is what they bought/ traded in with the eternal life stuff. Good news is Jesus paid the price to bring us back to the "eternal life" ... so in the end, we get it all ... knowledge of good %26amp; bad AND eternal life.

When you examine the "Diet's" of other species ... you will see that humans have the largest amount of foods that can be ate. Horses can only eat a small amount of food. Even monkeys %26amp; apes have less they can eat without poisoning themselves ... so this is kind of an indicator of how much dominion we really have. If I remember right we can eat up to 1600 different types of vegetation while horses can only eat up to 20 different types of vegetation (buy ah, it's been a long time so these #'s can be really outta whack).
Reply:They were created that way. God did know that Adam would sin, this is also obvious. But the fact is, we live in a fallen world. This is why we are vulnerable to these things, as well as natural disasters, disease, and physical ailments of every sort. Our vulnerability and the increasing destruction in the world, both natural and man-made, is our own fault.
Reply:Why is there even a bible ?

That is the most dangerous thing that has cost the most deaths ,that I know of ??
Reply:You obviously aren't aware that numerous of these venoms are currently being studied for their life-saving properties!
Reply:Actually, man is a far more dangerous predator to the animals than the other way around, or haven't you noticed? I know what you're doing, but I've got to have fun too.

Those toxic animals and predators are not dangerous to humans unless humans invade their habitat. Their behaviors work just fine for everyone -- well unless you're at the bottom of the food chain -- as long as humans don't encroach. After all, humans are just another slab of meat as far as the animals are concerned and fair game. They could care less that humans are more intelligent and have a soul. Lunch is lunch.

The idea is that the earth for humans is a school. Humans are supposed to practice natural science and observe the animals first before encroaching upon their territory and learn from them. This is how they grow their superior brains. Learn from the animals -- or be their lunch. Take your pick. If things were too easy, like living in a garden for eternity, humans would get bored and commit suicide. Then what? No more people.

That's what I think happened to Eve. She got bored out of her monkey brain putzing around in a garden 24/7/365. Not one damn challenge for freakin eternity. Perfection, perfection, perfection over-dose suddenly ain't perfection any more. She needed chaos. But how? She was dumb, dumb, dumb. Solution? Eat from the tree of knowledge. It was irresistible, considering that the other choice was suicide. Then what? No more people!

So, you see. Evolution happened in spite of everything. Eve adapted, chose stimulation instead of mind-boggling boredom to the infinite degree and we're still here today as evidence. The End
Reply:Because most of the Bible is a parable, and is not literal.

What the passage you're referring to actually means is not dominion as in control or authority. But that God charged men to respect and care for all creatures and plants. To care for them and nurture them, not to use for ill purpose and destroy or control.

All of the dangerous plants and animals on the earth exist because of the beauty of diversity and variety. Everything on this planet has a purpose, even if it's hard to conceive of. Some very poisonous plants can be used in small doses as medicine for example. Some dangerous animals help to control disease and over population of other animals (including men).

We're all interconnected, even if it's not readily apparent due to the warped nature of today's society.
Reply:I bleev earth isnt humans true planet...why does the dun hurt our eyes, why cant we breath under something that takes up 72% f the world...

theres loads of questions that trigger, were not suited for earth
Reply:What i love about these ones is how they wriggle out of them-not in an intelligent cuning way however, it's usually just lies or god did it..
Reply:We don't understand who we are or what we posses in Christ..That got lost along the way with man made doctrines and religiosity... I do realize that you must go through a process of understanding and attaining God's power but nothing is impossible if you seek and ask for it ..After all he wishes for all believers to receive the gifts of the holy spirit.....

I believe in the restoration of all things and that there will be the sons of God that will rise at some point and will take dominion over the earth again!
Reply:Survival of the fittest baby. Mwhahahahahahaha
Reply:Adam and Eve ate the apple, and they lived unhappily ever after. ----The End
Reply:A challenge for us to face?
Reply:"First, god, being god, already KNEW man would sin so why create plants %26amp; animals and later make them dangerous?"

Why would He have created them dangerous in the first place? Man had not yet sinned, and therefore there shouldn't have been any death. Or maybe man had some pre-fall immunity that he lost afterwards.

"And secondly, why would this not be mentioned in the bible?"

Because no matter how much more material God might have added to the bible, there's always at least one more thing that someone could claim that He should have added as well.
Reply:hmm i dunno. why did god create poodles anyway? what purpose do they serve?
