How to get rid of spiders?
I know you don't want to hear this, but most spiders will not hurt you. The only two I know of that will cause harm are the black widow and the brown recluse--but if you are afraid, spiders will cause you grief. Instead of dousing your house with lots of harmful insecticides, which may indeed cause you harm, you might consider doing the following.

1.Go to your local home improvement store and ask for some natural spider repellent. In our stores, cedar based repellents come highly recommended. Spraying this around baseboards where the spiders are found seems to help, but this has to be done frequently.

2. Keep your home vacuumed, paying attention to spider webs and crevices. Repeat this step often.

3. Look for places where spiders can enter, and then seal up the tiny holes with caulking.

4. If possible, use cedar mulch around outside of house, as this deters insects from getting close to house.

5. At home improvement store, ask for mouse and insect glue traps. I am a huge fan of these! If you follow the directions and set these baited traps out, you will be surprised (and probably a little grossed out) to find how many spiders this will trap. These traps last along time, and emit no chemicals and when it is time to dispose, all you do is place the trap box in the trash, without ever touching the offending parties.

6. You might consider using the plug-in electronic bug deterrents. Some people report that they are highly effective, others are not so sure. We have several in each room and believe they help.

7. Consider buying natural eucalyptus and placing it out in the rooms where you see spiders. This is a natural repellent and should help.

8. If all else fails, consider welcoming a dog or cat to your home. There is a reason people call dogs "man's best friend." Cats, too, like to help out by keeping the insects at bay!

Just don't freak out and spray stuff everywhere. As mentioned earlier, most spiders won't hurt you, and most insecticides can cause harm to you or your pets. Most of the medical professionals I know refuse to use insecticides in their homes and would rather deal with spiders than with the long-term effects of chemicals.

Good luck!
Reply:Why should you kill it? Are they harm you. You should be sensitive to nature and live in harmony with those spiders because they are creatures too! The know their limit and you should know your limit.

Praying mantis are also effective
Reply:If you are in a state that has tent exterminators that would be your best bet,if not try setting a couple of Raid bug bombs and then have a exterminator come and spray all around the out side of your house also take out some of the shrubbery around your house to eliminate their place to live.
Reply:Many spiders like high humidity. If you get a dehumidifier, you may notice a drop in your spider population.
Reply:Call an exterminator.
