Is there a way to get rid of outside spiders?

Getting rid of spiders that weave webs on house foundations, plants and shrubs

Is there a way to get rid of outside spiders?
They are doing no harm and in fact are doing a good job by helping to keep down flies and mosquitos which might otherwise annoy you.

Why would you want to disturb the balance of nature?
Reply:You can either higher a specialist or do it yourself to fumigate the yard, the woutside of the house and make sure to get into cracks and crevices and such. I guess it is possible but because we are talking about outside it may have to be done several times to have any affect.
Reply:Put up a hummingbird feeder or two. Hummers eat lots of spiders- their source of protein. They also use bits of spider webs to construct their nests.
Reply:Why would you want to get rid of creatures that eat all the annoying insects? Watch Charlotte's Web again and then see if you feel the same way. Poor little spiders! What would Wilbur think?
Reply:go to lowes or home depot or a lawn and garden store and look for a spray or powder to get rid of spiders. a more expensive way is to hire a person that will come to your home and rid your home of the 8 legged insects.
Reply:Well, for an indirect way, you could use those bug repellent candles that keep mosquitoes away for a good distance...like the whole yard. I can't remember the brand name, but saw them on a commercial. Anyway, get a few of those and place them around the yard. Then it takes the food supply away from the spiders, so they have to go elsewhere.
Reply:If you get rid of outside spiders then your plants will suffer BIG time!
