White webbing in fish bowl?

I have two bettas, both of them are very healthy. I feel them once a day, 3 pellats a day.

One of them is in a two gallon bowl which I change the water for weekly and change half the water about every 3days.

The other is in a tank with a filter system, etc, and its 3 1/2 gallons, so it doesn't need to be changed as often.

My betta in the bowl has two plastic plants and gravel on the bottom with him. The bowl is never in direct sunlight (I use a lamp for him) and he currently is bubble nesting.

However, on the plants and small area of the gravel I've noticed (today) there's a strange white webbing, kind of like little spider webs. Through the bowl, it almost makes the plants look blurry in appearance. What is it?

I'm changing the water today (as its the 7th day) and I always use tap water for my fish.

Just some bacteria or fungus growing on the plants, they need to be washed - so wash them today.
Reply:It might be eggs
Reply:It could be a bacterial bloom. It's unlikely to be algae since it's white. There are plenty of bacterias that won't hurt fish, and if it was dangerous to the fish it would have attacked the fish first and not plastic plants, so don't worry in that respect.

Clean out the tank like you plan to. Make sure you use hot water. If it was my bowl, I wouldn't try to treat it until I tried this first: do today's cleaning like normal. If it comes back and is still not going on the fish, do another cleaning, and this time, BOIL EVERYTHING or do a bleach bath and try again.
Reply:Fungus on uneaten food. Syphon out and change water.
