Yes, you are growing garlic. Garlic is a good pest deterrent in the garden. After a while growing, the green plant spikes will start to turn brown and will start to sort of droop. That's when you should harvest your garlic
Reply:when i grow garlics, they usually survive.

bugs dont really like eating them i guess... mabe its somethign with the smell.

but anyway. yeah. when the long stems are coming up then theres garlics under, but you should probably wait a while so that they get pretty big.

and yeah they're kinda like potatoes. (:
Reply:In Spain I plant cloves in October/November and have whole cloves in May/June. When the leaves begin to turn yellow, pull out, and leave right on the ground in the sun for a day or 2. Before they turn yellow the tender green stems are delicious too- stir fried into omelettes.
Reply:I think you can, though I haven't tried it. I actually have wild garlic growing in our yard near our pond, and we pulled some up and chopped it up in fajitas last weekend. It was very good, and I love the smell of it when it is freshly mowed!
Reply:Yes, you'll need to let them form their bulbs, clusters of garlic cloves.

Keep doing what you're doing and you'll learn along the way.

Good luck and happy eating!!
Reply:Yeah ur on the right track. Give the stems about 10 days to produce small cloves or bundles of garlic. Make sure you add water all the time though, My dad always grows his own garlic. Nothing like having ur own home grown gaaaalic !
Reply:a garlic clove will turn into a full head. the same thing happens with onions. im pretty sure itll groow seeds
