If I am going on vacation for 3 weeks, will my spider plants die if they are not watered?

I usually water them once every 3-4 days or so. Probably not as often as I should, but I forget. Will they be okay for 3 weeks if I am gone?

If I am going on vacation for 3 weeks, will my spider plants die if they are not watered?
I have left plants for over 6 weeks in the past. I brought the more fragile ones to close friends, and left the hardier ones--spiders, dracaens, succulents, and other low light plants away from a window and watered them for several days before I left. When I returned, I watered them asap and all made it as if I never left.

It is important to remember to try not to let the soil of any plant dry all the way to the bottom of the pot. This drastically stress the plant and weakens it. Try to keep a evenly hydrated soil at all times. If a plant needs to surface dry, only allow the top 1/3 of the soil to dry, and only water the top 1/3 to moisten. I have been a tropical greenhouse specialist or over 36 years, and if you wat to keep your plants thriving, give them what they need when they need it!
Reply:If letting a friend or neighbor water your plants is not an option, you can purchase automatic watering systems like the ones in the links below:

Good luck with your plants and have fun on your vacation!
Reply:if it's a well established plant, it'll be fine.

those suckers are practically bulletproof!

have a great vacation!
Reply:no, mine regularly go for at least that long. they get dry, but pop right back. If it is a great concern, just put them in the tub, with a bit of water.
Reply:i would give them a good watering b4 leaving you should also keep them out of the sun so the soil will not dry out as quick keep in mind plants are better under watered than over watered if this is going to bother you while away i would get a trust Worthy friend or neighbor to look in on them
Reply:There are so many diffrent types of spider plants, I would go and check with you local plant store Like Home Depot, Lowes, Kamart, Walmart,Targets garden centers, or some other plant store that is local

or if you think they are going die have a neirbor come and check and water them if they needed to bee.
Reply:take you plants and set them in your bath tub with some water in it the day that you leave and your plants will be very happy when you return!
