How can I keep my aloe plant from tilting over to the side in the pot?

I have a MASSIVE aloe plant, I've had it for about 7 years. It's grown so large that I had to transplant it into the largest pot I could find at the store and no matter how big the pot or how I plant it, it keeps slowly tilting to the side. This is a problem because once it starts tilting the pieces that are touching the sides of the pot get ugly and start breaking off. It's starting to look like some sort of mutated green spider. Does anyone know what I could do to keep this from happening?

Mine is doing the same and it's nowhere near that big. It's in a 6" pot and the largest leave is maybe a foot long.



My only suggestion is to mound more soil around the base of the plant to keep it steady and hold it upright. Other than that you could put in a piece of wood for it to lean against, maybe loosely hold it up with string.
Reply:Is it tilting towards the light? All plants will do that If that's the case turn the pot and it will straighten up toward the light.

Reply:Aloe plants will do this. It is part of the natural wilting process. Just cut those peices off after they start to color and you will be fine. It is almost like leaves falling off a tree(especially if you have a large plant)
Reply:bamboo stakes or plant stakes.Wal Mart sells them ,but I'm not sure if they stock them this time of year.
