Yesterday we discovered these little grey/green spider like bugs on our chrysanthemums. They have eaten most of the leaves off the plants %26amp; appear to be moving from plant to plant one at a time, stripping the leaves as they go.
Can anyone identify these bugs?
Aphids don't chew up leaves so it's not aphids.
Sounds like a leaf miner of some kind...they eat leaves. I couldn't find any pictures of them but they are ugly guys. ;o)
Use a garden approved broad spectrum bug spray or dust with a Sevin powder. Check the label to make sure it kills mites as not all pesticides do!!!
Chrysanthemum lovin' bugs: European cornborer, snowbugs, slugs, red spiders, tarnished plant bug. Six-spotted leafhopper, Asiatic garden beetle, aphids, Mexi- can mealybug, chrysanthemum lacebug, corn earworm, bur- dock leaf miner, spittlebugs, cutworms, yellow wooly bear, spotted cucumber beetle, stalk borer, rose chafer, thrips, termites, grasshoppers, four-lined plant bug, red-banded leaf roller, olden ow aphid, Fuller's rose beetle,
Reply:I would assume aphids.
Reply:I don't know what they are but you can dust the plants with Sevin or Malathon and it will get rid of them. Good luck.
Reply:no good luck
